The King of Thanos, Dwarven King Burtan, needs a strong warrior to protect his people from the dragon Ozoth. Helping the dwarfs starts the quest The Belly of the Beast.

Entering the underground city Thanos you stand on a half destroyed stairway. The king is at the exact opposite side. Just go down, walk along the wide path and climb the stairs (note they are not intact either).
