Elder Desint is one of the three ancient Dogun elders, alongside Elder Astal and Elder Iscor, who were frozen and locked in the Vault of Ice at the end of the Dwarven-Dogun War. During the level 97 quest The Breaking Point, the player and the Dwarven King Draani travel to the Vault in the Freezing Heights to free and restore Desint and the other elders, who are able to use their ancient magic to calm the Canyon Colossus.
After the quest, Desint can be found before the altar in the Upper Molten Heights where Garaheth was imprisoned until the events of Dwarves and Doguns Part IV, where he discusses the history of the Doguns' fallen god.
Dialogue
After completing The Breaking Point:
- Elder Desint: Human. You have come... to pay your respects? A god has fallen. Our god.
- Elder Desint: Thrice, now, I have lived... to see His fall. Thrice now... I have mourned. Never again.
- Elder Desint: I was among the first... forged by His flame. Among the first awoken... brought to life through burning eternity.
- Elder Desint: Look at me now. I have grown old, outlived all... who shared His creation. Outlived many who came after.
- Elder Desint: We had thrived here... in these caverns. And then, They came. Meddlers. Fools.
- Elder Desint: They claimed our god... was a danger. They claimed we would be better... without him. They sealed Him... beyond this Gate.
- Elder Desint: I am glad I lived long enough... to see Them fall. To see Their folly.
- Elder Desint: In truth... I am old. I do not have long left... in this world. Not enough time... to hold such grudges.
- Elder Desint: I know what part you played... in His final fall. I could turn you to ash... for it.
- Elder Desint: I do not think I will. I have no space left... for anger.
- Elder Desint: Go on, then. Live on. This world is for... your people now. Make the most of it.

- According to him, Desint is the oldest living Dogun, even older than his fellow elders Astal and Iscor.
