The Explorer is a Villager who can be found in the large chapel in the ruins northwest of Gelibord and south of Castle Dullahan in the Dark Forest. They are often encountered during the level 69 Lazarus Pit Quest, in which the player investigates the ruins, originally built by an order dedicated to protecting the Lazarus Pit. They provide a hint as to the use of the
Ancient Talisman acquired during the quest.
Dialogue
Before Lazarus Pit:
- Explorer: Hello there, fellow explorer! Isn't this abandoned crypt simply fascinating? I can't begin to imagine what secrets lie within it.
- Explorer: There's some kind of door over on the east side, with a hole shaped like an amulet, but I can't seem to find anything that would fit in it...
After Lazarus Pit:
- Explorer: Goodness me, now my interest is incredibly piqued! I heard some kind of grinding noise– I think the door opened when I pushed an old brick in here!
- Explorer: It was closed when I went to check on it, however. Perhaps that old lich of the tower would know something, but their doors have been shut for a while now.
- Explorer: I hear they were getting tired of answering the questions of folks. It's unfortunate– I'd gab their skull off their neck if I could!
Trivia
- The "lich of the tower" the Explorer mentions is the same lich who killed Sir Pigglesworth the Thirty-Fifth, who was buried near the ruined chapel.
- Despite what the Explorer says, the lich's tower is currently accessible, but the lich themself is nowhere to be found.
