The Gravedigger's Spade is a Rare trinket obtainable during the annual Festival of the Spirits, which most recently ran from 13th October through 5th November, 2023. In 2023, the Spade could be obtained as a reward from the Guiding of the Spirits activity during the festival; it was given by The Guide after finding and returning a total of 9 bounty spirits to Detlas.

Upon use, the player will spend three seconds digging before unearthing a random object at their location. This object will remain for 60 seconds before disappearing, or until the next time the Gravedigger's Spade is used to dig something up. After being used, the Spade can be used again after a 20-second cooldown. Possible objects to unearth include:

• A pumpkin, generic skull, or pile of bones, identical to the decorations around Detlas during the festival
• A small unopenable chest
• A Fossil Skull
• A harmless, unattackable Skeleton that will follow the player until disappearing.
• A harmless, unattackable Smidgen that will follow the player until disappearing.

Sometimes, nothing will be unearthed, playing the following line of dialogue:

• [!] You dug up... nothing. Disappointing.
