Location Detlas

The Guide is an NPC dedicated to the Festival of the Spirits. They can be found in Detlas from October 8th, 2021 to October 31st, 2021. After the Festival of the Spirits is over, they disappeared from Detlas. They are also joined by The Seer and The Envoy.

The Guide is associated with the Guiding of the Spirits minigame. After returning a spirit to Detlas, you can speak with them to get 6, 9, or 12
Emerald Blocks and 2
Spirit Fireworks.

They returned for the 2023 Festival of the Spirits to host the Guiding of the Spirits again.

2021 Festival of the Spirits

The Guiding of the Spirits acts like a quest, although like the Avalanche Wynnter Fair game, it has no place in the Quest Book.

First Spirit

Stage 1

  • The Guide: So you arrive, hero. The Seer has told me much about you, yes.
  • The Guide: The spirits grow in power. They manifest all throughout your realm.
  • The Guide: Though they pose no harm to those that inhabit this place... They are lost. They can not find their way back to where they came.
  • The Guide: Would you assist us in this ritual? Find these lost souls, and return them to us. You will be rewarded for your time.
    • [1] I can do that.
      • The Guide: A wise choice. Then, take this relic. It will grant you sight, the right to see those who have passed. It may guide you, so you may in turn guide them. Attune with the world, and it will show you the way.
      • [+1 Spiritual Tuner]
      • The Guide: As of this moment, only 1 spirit has manifested, and it has done so within this city. Retrieve it, and guide it to the center.
    • [2] I am no exorcist.
      • The Guide: ...An unexpected reply. Very well. You may return to your affairs.
      • The Guide: Though, should you ever change your mind, hero. I will remain here, as will my companions.

If you choose the 'I am no exorcist' option, you can speak to The Guide again to continue with the task.

Stage 2

You then have to find the spirit using the Spiritual Tuner. To get to the first spirit, you will go to the inn west of The Seer. In there, you will find smoke particles at 420, -1623. Right-click on them with the Spiritual Tuner and they will sparkle, turning into a spirit that you should then guide to the center of Detlas.

Stage 3

After you have guided the spirit back to the pit in the middle of Detlas, a cutscene will play where the spirit moves on through the white spikes imbuing the spirit with the power needed to move on.

  • The Guide: ... You return. And, so it seems, a spirit has been guided back. Well done.
  • The Guide: ... You have returned, hero. I sense the spirit has been returned to the beyond.
  • The Guide: I trust you did not find it too difficult to locate. Others may end up being more... difficult.
  • The Guide: Regardless. You have returned this spirit, and I offered a reward in return.
  • The Guide: But first. The remaining spirits... They will not manifest all at once. Each day until we leave, one new spirit will appear somewhere in your realm.
  • The Guide: By now... There are {no spirits/1 spirit/x spirits} in this realm. Find them. Seek them. Guide them home. Speak to me again if you would like additional information.

You can get rewards if you have returned 5 spirits to Detlas, being the Emblem of the Spirits, and if you have returned every spirit to Detlas, with the reward being the Mask of the Spirits.

Other Dialogue

If you chose the 'I am no exorcist' option

  • The Guide: ... You have returned, hero. Have you changed your mind?
  • The Guide: Their power grows. They manifest in greater numbers.
  • The Guide: I would ask you again. Will you assist us in this ritual? Find these lost souls, and return them to us. You will be rewarded for your time.

      • The Guide: A wise choice. Then, take this relic. It will grant you sight, the right to see those who have passed. It may guide you, so you may in turn guide them. Attune with the world, and it will show you the way.

      • The Guide: As I said before. Should you ever change your mind, I will remain here. Not forever, mind you, but long enough.

Returning to The Guide without bringing the Detlas Spirit back

  • The Guide: ... You have returned, hero. And yet, the spirit remains.
  • The Guide: Do you still seek it? It lies somewhere within the boundaries of this city.
  • The Guide: Retrieve it, and guide it to the center.

Returning to The Guide after the initial spirit

  • The Guide: ...You return. How can I assist?

      • The Guide: The spirits are somewhere in your realm. I imagine they will gravitate towards places of population... Or, rarely, perhaps places of significant power.
      • The Guide: The Spiritual Tuner... It will guide you, so you may further guide them. Attune with the world, and it will show you the way.
      • The Guide: However... If you truly seek help. The Envoy has more knowledge of this place than I do not. He may know more than I.
    • [3] I want the payment for my aid.
      • Haven't claimed rewards yet:

2023 Festival of the Spirits

First Conversation

This dialogue is done in tandem with The Envoy.

  • The Guide: ...The connection has been established. My part in this is finished.
  • The Envoy: Good, good. Now, all we need to do is wait for- ah, there you are!
  • The Envoy: We have been waiting for you, hero! But now that you're here, we can begin.
    • [1] Have we met? Who are you?
      • The Envoy: ...
      • The Envoy: Perhaps we haven't! But that's quite alright. The Seer was very specific with his instructions.
      • The Guide: Too specific, perhaps...
      • The Envoy: In any case, you asked who we are? We're... shall we say, a group of individuals interested in the continued wellbeing of this realm!
      • The Envoy: And, well... there has been an incident, of sorts, in the Beyond. Many spirits have escaped into your world, while others...
    • [2] Right, I forgot you were like this.
      • The Envoy: Well, now. That's no way to greet a friend, is it?
      • The Guide: ...It's not like they have a wrong impression of you, Envoy. You are like this.
      • The Envoy: What! You'd turn on me as well? And here I thought we were friends.
      • The Envoy: Well, whatever the case, you're here now! And, as it so happens, we need your help... again.
      • The Envoy: There has been... an incident, of sorts, in the Beyond. Many spirits have escaped into your world, while others...
    • [3] ...What?
      • The Envoy: What do you mean, what? Did I not make myself perfectly clear?
      • The Guide: ...You did not.
      • The Envoy: Hmph. Everyone's a critic. Well, you're here now, so you'll be able to help us, yes?
      • The Envoy: There has been... an incident, of sorts, in the Beyond. Many spirits have escaped into your world, while others...
  • The Guide: Others have not yet succeeded. But we cannot allow them to.
  • The Envoy: Exactly! And, so, we need your help. The Guide here can point you in the direction of your escapades, if you speak to them.
  • The Envoy: And, as for the others... We've spoken to the Event Airship Captain. He'll bring you there directly.
  • The Envoy: We'll speak there. See you soon!

The Envoy will then vanish with this dialogue.

  • The Guide: ...And he's gone. You heard what he said. Speak to me for the Guiding, and take the airship for the Banishment.

Talk to the Guide again for them to continue their dialogue.

  • The Guide: ...You return. I take it you are willing to take up the task of the Guiding?
  • The Guide: Good. Let us begin. We will commune with those Beyond, to discern the location of those escaped.

A prompt will then appear telling you to guide the first Lost Soul. After you have revealed the hint, the dialogue will continue.

  • The Guide: You have heard from those Beyond. Let their words guide you.
  • The Guide: Find the lost soul, and guide it here. I will return it to its proper place.

After the first Lost Soul had been guided, the dialogue will continue.

  • The Guide: ... You return. The spirit has been guided home. Well done. Come speak to me so I can tell you what to do next.
  • The Guide: ... You have done well. But that is only one of many escaped souls. We have much work ahead of us.
  • The Guide: ...But first, there is something I must tell you. The Seer... said you would likely want rewards for your work.
  • The Guide: So... to start with. Here.
  • [+1 Spectral Ticket]
  • The Guide: This is a ticket used for the Drawing of the Spirits, which the Seer is holding in the northwest corner of this city.
  • The Guide: For each Lost Soul you guide, I will grant you one ticket. Each Bounty Spirit will earn you two.
  • The Guide: ...Or so the Seer told me to say.
  • The Guide: Beyond that, however, I also have many artifacts I can offer you. Once you guide enough spirits, I can grant these to you.
  • The Guide: To solidify this agreement... You may have the first. Simply click the reward's button to claim it.

A UI will open with the node for the Emblem of the Spirits to be clicked.

  • The Guide: ...Then it is agreed. You will help us guide these wayward spirits home. Speak to me when you would like to continue.

Following Conversations

  • The Guide: You return. Is there anything you need of me?

      • The Guide: Very well. Let us commune with those Beyond once more.
        • The list of Spirits will then appear.
    • [2] Can I view the rewards?
      • The Guide: ...Of course. I will show you what you may gain through the Guiding.
        • The Reward Tree for the Guiding of the Spirits will appear.
    • [3] Why do you want these spirits returned?
      • The Guide: ...
      • The Guide: ...I was in their position, once. I do not wish for a repeat of what happens if they are returned.
    • [4] Why don't you want me to tell the Envoy about the Storyteller?[2]
      • The Guide: ...
      • The Guide: I have seen His magic at work. It... unsettled me.
      • The Guide: I do not wish for the Envoy to learn that his role is fabricated. He is... content. Telling him would ruin that.
      • The Guide: I like what we three have, now.
      • The Guide: ...
      • The Guide: Our work is yet to be concluded. There are spirits that must be guided.
    • [5] I don't need anything.
      • The Guide: ...

The Beyond

A UI will then open up detailing some parts of the game.

Claiming the Final Milestone

Spoke to Aster in the Talespun Citadel

  • The Guide: ... That is all of them. Every lost soul returned to their true home.
  • The Guide: I suppose this means our work will soon be done.
  • The Guide: ...
  • The Guide: You have a mission, do you not? Given by that Storyteller.
  • The Guide: ...
  • The Guide: You may ask the Envoy to join you, when the time is right. I will not seek to stop you.
  • The Guide: ...I have some more on this subject. It would not be right to prevent it.
  • The Guide: I hope you know what you are doing, hero. That man's power, do not underestimate its potential...
