Quest Involved Aldorei's Secret Part II

Olon is the deuteragonist of the level 78 quest Aldorei's Secret Part II.

Olon's parents had recently passed away, and he believes that some elves in Aldorei are to blame, as he and his parents lived in Efilim. He later makes a conspiracy and later recruits the player to help in his quest. After the player gathers some information, both the player and Olon, despite any turmoils they encountered in-between, decide to go to the underground area of Aldorei. In there, they both find a graveyard lost to history, and later decide to confront the Elders of Aldorei. After the duo intrude on a meeting between all of the Elders, Elder Oak threatens to imprison both of them before the player points out an empty pedestal. After the skirmish, Olon and the player brief on the pedestal, with Olon concluding a fight must have happened between the missing elder and the council. Olon and the player then head to Cinfras to get some data on how the Canyon of the Lost has been moving, and Olon will meet up with his old friend Harvy. After the player and Olon find out about some logs the soldiers at the Guild Hall recorded, the duo head back to Aldorei. They both head to the Canyon of the Lost before Elder Alder appears. While Olon thinks they are about to be caught, Alder reveals that he wanted to help the pair, and will talk to the Elders about what happened back then. After the player and Olon navigate the canyon, they both find Elder Birch and successfully convince him to come back to Aldorei Town. Back in Aldorei Town, Olon and the player introduce Birch back to the Elders, much to the dismay of Oak. After Birch and Alder reveal the hidden cave under the Cherry Blossom Tree, Olon and the player dive down and find a large mystical log, before he then sees Oak, Birch, and Alder arrive, under the belief that they are there to capture the duo once and for all. However, Oak reveals that this is something the Elders can no longer be quiet about, and show the duo the truth about the Elves' immortality. After finding the truth out, Olon is horrified at what his kind had done.

After the quest, Olon can be found in his home in Efilim, trying to get over the harsh truth he never wanted to learn. He tries to cope with reading, which fails, but later feels better as his shame is turning into hatred for the old elders. After another day, the player arrives earlier to his house than expected, and as he is trying cooking as a new hobby, he requests the player gets some ingredients from the surrounding Light Forest. After Olon gives the player a meal, he realizes that he never took the time to grieve his parents' death. After another day, Olon's guilt about the impact of the old Elves' decisions has finally worn off, and he gives the player a Thank You Gift for helping him through his troubles as he tells the player he's heading off to the Cinfras Library.

Olon can be invited to the Festival of the Blizzard starting in 2023. He is a part of Character Set V.

Inviting to Detlas

  • Olon: Oh, hi there! How's it going, <playername>?
    • [1] I wanted to invite you to a festival in Detlas.
      • Olon: A festival? I don't hate the idea of going to one, but it is pretty far away...
      • Olon: Although, maybe having some distance will be good for me? I'm not entirely sure.
      • Olon: You know what? I'll take you up on that invitation! It's not like I'm really doing much around here, anyway...
      • Olon: ...Nothing I can't bring with me, at least! I'll see you there!
    • [2] How're you holding up?
      • Olon: Well... it could be better!
      • Olon: Having some distance from Aldorei has been helping, but... there's still a lot to process, you know?
      • Olon: Don't worry about me, I'll be fine! I've been trying to pick up some hobbies to take my mind off of things, which has been working well enough.
    • [3] It's going well.
      • Olon: That's good to hear! I've been... managing. Doing fine, all things considered!

Talking to After Inviting

  • Olon: I'll see you at the festival, <playername>!

In Detlas

First Conversation

  • Olon: Wow, I don't think I've seen snow like this since... well, ever, really!
  • Olon: It's... nice. I'd call it calming, even! Which is good. I needed "calming" in my life.

Following Conversations

  • Olon: Hi, <playername>! It's good to see you.
    • [1] Are you participating in the gift-giving?[1]
      • Olon: I am! I made sure to get something just for you before I left home.
      • [+1 Elven Tulip]
      • Olon: This type of flower represents a friendship, in elven culture. I thought it'd be nice to give you that one to signify that.
      • Olon: ...Not that we weren't friends before! But now we're definitely friends.
    • [2] Earlier, you mentioned you were picking up hobbies.
      • Olon: Oh... this and that, I guess! I've been trying out cooking, gardening, painting...
      • Olon: ...hiking, sewing, bluecap mushrooms- by the way, you should really try them, they're something special-...
      • Olon: And those have all been going well! There's, uh, some failures too, of course.
      • Olon: It turns out I'm awful at poetry. The words just... don't come out right.
      • Olon: There was that time I tried to domesticate a Phrumkin- worst idea I ever had, would not recommend.
      • Olon: ...But overall I found a few things to occupy my time! And, better yet, I'm enjoying doing them!
    • [3] Have you spoke to Aldorei's elders at all recently?
      • Olon: I wish I could say I haven't! I've been... trying to avoid that whole situation.
      • Olon: I didn't really seek them out. Elder Alder visited Efilim, a few days after everything happened. He wanted to apologize.
      • Olon: ...Apparently he knew my parents before they left for Efilim. Was good friends with them, even!
      • Olon: I don't know how to feel about it, really. On the one hand, I really want nothing to do with Aldorei or its elders, after what we found out.
      • Olon: But on the other hand... he's a connection to my family. One of the last ones I could possibly have.
      • Olon: I'm... going to have to think about it. And, well, this is as good a place as any to do that! Nice and far away from all my problems.
    • [4] You never really told me much about your parents.[2]
      • Olon: I never did tell you much about them, did I? They were the reason I got stuck in this conspiracy, but then I got distracted by everything...
      • Olon: Well for starters, they were adventurers way back in the day! When I was growing up, I was told stories of their travels deep into the Canyon.
      • Olon: My dad was an expert blademaster- he'd have at least seven swords on him at any time, or so my mom joked. He- he probably didn't have that many...
      • Olon: And my mom specialized in nature magic! She'd be able to make the smallest of saplings grow until it touched the clouds, with only a single spell! Maybe that was an exaggeration. I like the imagery, though!
      • Olon: They... they didn't really like to be stuck in one place for too long. It's why they chose to leave Aldorei, in the end.
      • Olon: Even after moving to Efilim, they still did some adventuring, for a while. Eventually, though, they had me... and chose to settle down.
      • Olon: ...I guess the adventures finally caught up to them. So many years spent away from Aldorei, taking their years from them one by one.
      • Olon: They were- they were happy, in the end, I think. Happy that they lived their life, happy that they had me...
      • Olon: ...But it's still- it's not fair. It's not fair! They should have had longer. Those- those selfish elders...
      • Olon: I don't know. It's over, and- and they're gone now. So... maybe it doesn't matter.
      • Olon: I'm glad I had those years with them. It hurts knowing that we could have had longer, but... that's life, I guess! It's not fair.
      • Olon: ...Huh. I think- I think I've been keeping that all inside for... a while. I'm glad I was able to get it out, if I'm being honest!
      • Olon: I think... I'm going to choose not to stay angry. Maybe I can't forgive the elders for what they did, but... I'll listen to Alder's stories. We'll both remember my parents for who they were.
      • Olon: Maybe that'll just have to be enough.
    • [5] Good to see you too.
      • Olon: Yep! That is... a full interaction right there. Good going, us.
