Gerald the Yeti was an NPC dedicated to the Festival of the Blizzard, accompanying The Traveler. He could be found by the tree in the center of Detlas. After the Festival of the Blizzard ended, he disappeared from Detlas.
For the 2021 and 2022 Festival of the Blizzard, after inviting The Cook to partake in the festivities in Detlas, you could speak to him to be given Hastily-Prepared Food, which could then be fed to Gerald to prompt him to move away from the tree, opening a secret passage inside, revealing the path to Yahya. After being fed, he would fall asleep next to the Trade Market stall, east of the tree.
However, in the 2023 Festival of the Blizzard, Gerald was not named and was instead given the
Old Cookie to go inside the tree, disappearing from the festival.
Unlike most NPCs, Gerald does not have a visible nametag.
Dialogue
Before Eating
- The Yeti curiously watches as you approach it.
- [1] Stare back.
- The yeti stares back at you with a determined look.
- [2] Happily smile.
- You meet eyes with the yeti, but it quickly looks away.
- [3] Ponder.
- The yeti sits with great patience, as if it's waiting for something...
- [4] Give meal.[1]
- The yeti's eyes glow with excitement as it devours the meal!
- It yawns and slowly slouches out of the way...
- ...
- [4] Give cookie.[2]
- The Yeti stares at the cookie for a while, and then grabs it.
- (The Yeti will then eat the cookie, and then run off to the east gate.)
- [1] Stare back.
After Eating
- The yeti seems to be taking a nap.
- [1] Pet the yeti.
- You pet the sleeping yeti, it snores obnoxiously...
- [2] Take a look around.
- It's a sleeping yeti, looks like a puddle of frozen drool nearby...
- [3] Walk away quietly.
- It's probably best not to bother it...
- [4] Your pocket shakes...[3]
- Talking Mushroom: OKAY, WHICH ONE OF YOU LEFT THEIR YETI UNLEASHED?! THIS IS EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL!! YETIS CAN BE DANGEROUS, YOU KNOW!!!
