Dialogue

2021 Festival of the Blizzard

Pre-Task Dialogue
  • The Traveler: Oh... Hello! That was quite a storm passing through here earlier, was it not?
  • The Traveler: I found myself passing through the area, and... well, it seems the storm has cleared up now. Probably for the better.
  • The Traveler: These folks here are quite a festive bunch, aren't they? Though, well... I can't help but feel that something's missing.
  • The Traveler: Hm... You look like you've traveled all over, yes? I have a proposal for you!
    • [1] I'm listening.
      • The Traveler: I'm glad you are! On your travels, surely you've met all sorts of people, yes?
      • The Traveler: If I point you in the direction of interested folks, you could invite them here! Share the winter spirit with others, and make this city a little less lonely.
      • The Traveler: I'm glad you're interested. I think... I think this idea could work quite well, if you bring enough folks.
      • The Traveler: Right! I have an idea for the first person you could invite. Seek the weary soldier, stationed neath an ancient stair. Once you've found them, come talk to me.[1]
      • The Traveler: Right! I have an idea for the first person you could invite. Though... it seems you have not fully met them yet. Complete Enzan's Brother, then come talk to me.[2]
    • [2] I'm busy.
      • The Traveler: Ah... But of course. I should have known. Well... Should you find yourself bored of your affairs, come back here!
      • The Traveler: Maybe I'll still be here. Maybe I'll have moved on. It's hard to say with these sorts of things, you know!
Returning to the Traveler after previously declining
  • The Traveler: Hm... Oh! You're back! Have you changed your mind?
  • The Traveler: Remember, I had a proposal for you. Would you like to hear it, this time?
    • [1] I'll hear you out.
      • The Traveler: Great to hear!
Complete Enzan's Brother, then come talk to me.[2]
    • [2] I'm still busy.
      • The Traveler: Right... Right. I'll still be here for the foreseeable future, at the very least. Come back when you're ready to hear me out.

You can still return to the Traveler if you have declined to complete the Festival Invitations.

Enzan's Brother not completed
  • The Traveler: You return! Though... you have still yet to meet the first. Remember, you need to complete Enzan's Brother.
  • The Traveler: Once you've done so, come back, and I'll tell you who to find.
Returning without inviting Therck and Enzan
  • The Traveler: Hello, again! Have you found the person I told you about?
  • The Traveler: Remember, seek the weary soldier, stationed neath an ancient stair. Keep searching, you'll find them eventually.
After Inviting Therck and Enzan
  • The Traveler: Hello, again! Looks like you found the person I told you about! And... he brought company? The more the merrier, I suppose.
  • The Traveler: Alright! This is a good start, but two is nowhere near enough for this place to feel... right.
  • The Traveler: I have a few more ideas for who you could invite... Ask me if you'd like to hear them. After that, it will take time for me to find more. Check back every 24 hours, that should be enough time.
  • The Traveler: In the meantime, enjoy the festivities. I hear a Wynnter Fair is being held this year!
  • The Traveler: Otherwise... Is there anything else I can help you with?

After these tasks are completed, The Traveler will switch to the generic and repeatable dialogue they have.

Following Conversations
  • The Traveler: ...Oh! Hello. Is there anything I can help you with?
    • [1] Who should I find?
      • If you have other NPCs that have not yet been invited:
        • The Traveler: (First line varies)
          • The Traveler: Alright! More ideas, coming right up.
          • The Traveler: Sure. Who should you invite...
          • The Traveler: Okay, let me think.
        • The Traveler: {Hm./Ah.../Let's see.../Oh, I've got one./Right...} {Hint}. Think you'll be able to find them?
        • The Traveler: {Hm./Ah.../Let's see.../Oh, I've got one./Right...} {Hint}. I don't think you're ready to invite this person, actually! You'll need to complete {Quest} first.[3]
      • The Traveler: I have some more ideas, if you'd like to hear them?
        • [1] Tell me another.[4]
          • The Traveler: ...And that's all I've got right now. Happy searching![5]
        • [2] That's enough.
          • The Traveler: Alright! You know where to find me if you want a pointer.
      • If you have found all the NPCs:
        • The Traveler: Well... I'm out of ideas, right now! It looks like I've already invited everyone I told you about.
        • The Traveler: I'll think about who else you could bring here. Come back in {x hours/1 hour/less than an hour}, and I'll have an answer for you.
        • The Traveler: And I think that'll be all my ideas for the Wynnter season![6]
    • [2] Why are you here?
      • The Traveler: Why am I here... That's a fair question, though... I'm not sure I can answer it.
      • The Traveler: I've traveled the world for... well, for longer than I can remember. Which is its own issue... heh.
      • The Traveler: But, ah. I found myself in front of this city just after the storm had come to an end, with no memory of how I got here.
      • The Traveler: Maybe I was... called here. I'm not sure why, or by what force. But I'm here now, and I guess I'll stay here until the festivities end.
      • The Traveler: If I come up with anything else, I'll let you know. For the time being, let's just enjoy the festivities, yes?
    • [3] Tell me about something.
      • The Traveler: ...I could try, though I may not have anything of note to say.
      • The Traveler: What is it you want me to tell you about?
        • [1] Emblem of the Bonfire
          • The Traveler: ...A bonfire. I'm afraid I don't know anything about this item you've given me. Where did you get it from?
          • The Traveler: You got it from a man in an orange cloak? Something about that feels familiar... but I can't quite pinpoint what.
          • The Traveler: Bonfires... Hm. I'll keep thinking! Just, ah... If you ever see this man again, be careful. Something about these flames reminds me of...
          • The Traveler: Nevermind. Just stay safe out there, alright?
          • The Traveler: Anything else?[7]
        • [2] Emblem of the Spirits
          • The Traveler: ...Spirits? I've certainly seen my fair share of those on my travels... Though, nothing on the scale of what you've described.
          • The Traveler: It's strange, how these people you've met can appear and disappear overnight. I can't say I've ever heard of this group, though that's not saying much...
          • The Traveler: Ah. Either way, if what you say is true, they don't seem hostile. Just strange. Much like myself, maybe?
          • The Traveler: I'll keep thinking! Maybe I'll be able to come up something, even despite my poor memory.
          • The Traveler: Anything else?[7]
        • [3] Frozen Orchid
          • The Traveler: Oh, a frozen orchid! I've seen these things growing around the Lusuco area. They're quite beautiful, aren't they?
          • The Traveler: Apparently they hold a strange magic within them... A leftover from when the region froze, maybe?
          • The Traveler: Well, wherever they come from, they're very interesting. I'll have to keep an eye out the next time I'm in the area!
          • The Traveler: Anything else?[7]
        • [4] Stormcaller
          • The Traveler: You say you got this from Santa? It certainly feels like their kind of thing, though its craftsmanship... This thing is very old.
          • The Traveler: Its power reminds me of... something. Something familiar. Maybe from the Santas...? No, it's not that. Hm.
          • The Traveler: Well, uh. It's yours now, I suppose! Now you'll have the power to control the... weather. The weather? Not here, though.
          • The Traveler: ...It hasn't stopped snowing since I got here, has it? I wonder... Oh, uh, right. Stormcaller. Very interesting artifact.
          • The Traveler: Anything else?[7]
        • [5] The Yeti
          • The Traveler: Oh! So you met Gerald, then? Don't mind him, he's perfectly harmless. Unless you have food on you, that is...
          • The Traveler: We met at some point on my travels. He didn't have anywhere to go, so he followed me... And we've traveled together ever since!
          • The Traveler: Anything else?[7]
        • [6] Souvenir Sweater Merchant
          • The Traveler: Yes... him. I've been keeping my distance. I worry that if he initiates conversation, I'll come out of it with five new sweaters.
          • The Traveler: Truth be told, I'm not entirely sure how he does it. Every day that goes by, I see someone else with a festive sweater! It's ridiculous.
          • The Traveler: Anything else?[7]
        • [7] Enzan and Therck
          • The Traveler: Ah, right. The brothers. I... I envy what they have, I think.
          • The Traveler: Even despite their distance, you can feel that unbreakable bond they share. I suppose that's to be expected, though. They are brothers, after all...
          • The Traveler: Ah, don't mind me. I've just been traveling alone for a while. Being in a place like this helps stave off the loneliness, I suppose!
          • The Traveler: Anything else?[7]
        • [8] Alem
          • The Traveler: Who? Oh, you mean- Right, yes, I remember now.
          • The Traveler: ...He unnerves me, to tell you the truth. As soon as he arrived, he took one look at me, and said something ominous. Just the word "memory," I think.
          • The Traveler: I have a sense that he knows something about me that even I myself don't know. which isn't that surprising, considering who he...
          • The Traveler: Right, right. Alem. His name is Alem. I think that's all I have to say about him.
          • The Traveler: Anything else?[7]
        • [9] What did you have to say?[8]
          • The Traveler: Right! Ah, I think I have something. It's not very clear, but... Something.
          • The Traveler: The two emblems you showed me... And the one I offered you, as well. They're important, I believe. A way to...
          • The Traveler: You mentioned two figures, but there was a third. I can't quite recall what he looked like, but he... Hm.
          • The Traveler: I can't remember... Whatever happened... it wasn't his fault. You have to let him know it wasn't his fault.
          • The Traveler: We weren't meant to be here, but we are, and... And I'm not sure why. I don't know what it means, yet.
          • The Traveler: There's not much time left. Soon, I'll have to go, and I can't tell you more. I'll... forget again.
          • The Traveler: And, ah... There's more ahead. But I can't be here for it. It's your path to take, and your choices to make.
        • [9] Can you repeat what you said earlier?[9]
          • The Traveler: Ah... I can try. It likely won't be... clear, but. I'll try.
          • The Traveler: There was something about... emblems. Important emblems. You need to hold on to them for... some reason.
          • The Traveler: Hm... Two figures... Three, maybe? It's important that there are three. Maybe.
          • The Traveler: I... That's all I have for you. I'm sorry I can't help more. There's this sort of fog, following me wherever I go.
          • The Traveler: And whenever it reaches me, I start to lose myself. Maybe... maybe that's why I came here in the first place. But, would that mean...
          • The Traveler: Hm? What were we talking about?
        • [10] Nevermind.
          • The Traveler: Well... alright. Let me know if you need anything else.
    • [4] How long will you be here?
      • The Traveler: Well, from what I've heard, the festivities will end in {x days/1 day/x hours/1 hour/less than an hour}. I'll be here until then.
      • The Traveler: Staying longer... It doesn't feel right. To move from place to place is my nature. I can't stay for too long.
    • [5] Nothing.
      • This option ends the dialogue.
Receiving the Emblem of the Blizzard
  • The Traveler: Hello! I, ah... I've heard gift-giving is a large part of this festival, from those I've spoken to about it.
  • The Traveler: And... Well, I have something to give you, clearly. I'm not quite sure where I got this thing, but... it's important.
  • [+1 Emblem of the Blizzard]
  • The Traveler: Anyways, is there anything I can help you with?

2022 Festival of the Blizzard

First Conversation
  • The Traveler: Oh... Hello! That was quite a storm passing through here earlier, huh?
  • The Traveler: I guess I must have been passing through the area... But it's cleared up, now. No harm, then.
  • The Traveler: This place feels a little... empty, doesn't it? I can't help but feel that something's... missing.
  • The Traveler: ...Oh, right! You look like an adventurer, right? I have an idea... But I'll need your help with it.
    • [1] What's the idea?
      • The Traveler: Right! So... On your travels, you've probably met all sorts of people, right?
      • The Traveler: Maybe... Maybe I could point you in the direction of the interested folks, and you could invite them here! Share the winter spirit with others. Make this city a little less... lonely.
      • The Traveler: I'm glad you're interested. I think... I think this idea could work quite well, if you bring enough folks.
      • The Traveler: Hm... Oh! I have an idea in mind for the first person you could invite. Seek the weary soldier, stationed neath an ancient stair. Once you've invited them, come talk to me.[1]
      • The Traveler: Right! I have an idea for the first person you could invite. Though... it seems you have not fully met them yet. Complete Enzan's Brother, then come talk to me.[2]

      • The Traveler: Maybe I'll still be here. Maybe I'll have moved on. It's hard to say with these sorts of things, you know?
Returning to the Traveler after denying the offer
  • The Traveler: Hm... Oh! You're back! Have you changed your mind?
  • The Traveler: Remember, I had an idea I needed your help with. Have you become less busy, or...?
    • [1] Alright, I'll help.
      • The Traveler: That's... Great to hear! So... On your travels, you've probably met all sorts of people, right?

      • The Traveler: Right... Right. I'll still be here for the foreseeable future, at the very least. Come back when you're ready to hear me out.

First Conversation

  • The Traveler: Hm... O-oh! Hello there. That was... quite a storm passing through here earlier, huh... ?
  • The Traveler: I'm, ah, a bit... frazzled. Confused. I'm not quite certain how I... got here.
  • The Traveler: In- in any case. This place certainly looks very festive! That's good. Wouldn't want the festival to be ruined by a bit of...
  • The Traveler: ...
  • The Traveler: Ehm. Sorry about... that. I feel like I'm not entirely here, if I'm being honest with you! Memory's gone... somewhere.
  • The Traveler: You're... an adventurer, right? You're well-traveled, yes? I- I think I could use your help.
  • The Traveler: There's... a hole in my mind where memories should be. I've been catching glimpses of... places. But only for a moment- then they're gone.
  • The Traveler: If I show you what I've seen, would you try and find those places? I suspect it would help me... fill the gaps, so to speak.
  • The Traveler: Here, let me... show you.

After viewing the first memory fragment:

  • The Traveler: So... What do you think? Is that- is it somewhere you recognize?
  • The Traveler: Well, I'll... stay here for the time being. Tell me if you find anything.

After receiving the first memory:

  • The Traveler: ...Oh! You're back! Did you... did you find anything?
    • [1] I did.
  • The Traveler: That's- that's good. I think I felt it here, too. I must have crossed that bridge just before I arrived here...
  • The Traveler: ...Oh! I- I didn't forget that I asked you to do this. That's a good sign, I think.
  • The Traveler: Okay. Okay! This- this might be working. I have a few more memories you could take a look at, but... I might need more time for anything beyond that.
  • The Traveler: ...I was thinking, while you were gone. The city's all decorated, but it feels... empty. Like something's missing.
  • The Traveler: I, ah, set up a board by the tree. Since you're an adventurer, you've probably met lots of people on your travels, right?
  • The Traveler: You could go and invite some of them to come here for the holidays. Enjoy the festival- you know.
  • The Traveler: I don't know why exactly, but... it feels important. We need to liven up the festivities.
  • The Traveler: So- that's that. Check the board by the tree for the invitations, and... speak to me for more memories to track down.

  • The Traveler: Hm... Oh- hello again! Is there- is there anything I can help you with?
    • [1] I'd like to help with the memories.
      • The Traveler: Right- of course. One moment...
      • [The UI for The Traveler's Trail will be brought up.]
      • Claiming the Emblem of the Blizzard:
        • The Traveler: As- as thanks for your help... Here. I have a gift.
        • The Traveler: I don't know why I have this... or what it even means. But it's important.
        • The Traveler: You should have it. I'll feel better knowing its in good hands.
      • Claiming the Stormcaller:
        • The Traveler: I think... I think we're getting somewhere. With these memories.
        • The Traveler: As a sign of good faith, I have another gift.
        • The Traveler: I can't quite remember how I got ahold of it... but it's a powerful item.
      • Claiming the Snowtread Boots:
        • The Traveler: Ah- before you go. I wanted to speak with you.
        • The Traveler: As we're recovering more and more, I feel... more present. Like- like less of a ghost. Metaphorically speaking.
        • The Traveler: We're on the right track. I can feel it. As thanks, I have something else for you.
        • The Traveler: These boots... I know I received them from somebody. I don't know who, or when, but...
        • The Traveler: I think they'd be happy to hear it's been gifted once again.
      • Claiming the Frostlit Snowglobe:
        • The Traveler: Ah- before you leave!
        • The Traveler: I found this very interesting snowglobe in one of the shops in town.
        • The Traveler: But, ah- I've realized I have nowhere to put it. Maybe you have somewhere it can go?
      • Claiming the Wanderer's Candle:
        • The Traveler: ...Hm. I've been... doing some thinking.
        • The Traveler: The more we recover, the less I'm certain that we'll like whatever we find at the end.
        • The Traveler: ...Maybe I'm paranoid. I'd like to be proven wrong. But... I don't think I will be.
        • The Traveler: Here- take this candle. It's... used to remember those who are lost. I think it's important for you to have.
      • Claiming the Token of Remembrance:
        • The Traveler: ...
        • The Traveler: Well... I'll be off, soon.
        • The Traveler: Maybe we'll meet again, maybe we won't. I hope I won't lose this experience like I've lost others before, but...
        • The Traveler: I think it's inevitable. It's what I am, at this point.
    • [2] Have you remembered anything new?[14]
      • Didn't get all 25 Fragments:
        • The Traveler: ...I'm afraid I haven't, yet. Maybe once we recover enough of my memories, something will come to me.
        • The Traveler: I have to wonder... How long have I been traveling like this? Seeing the world, but... remembering none of it.
        • The Traveler: Hm... Maybe I'll never know. I'll just have to try my best to hold on to what I have now.
      • Got all 25 Fragments:
        • The Traveler: ...I have. You saw the grave, didn't you?
        • The Traveler: It's strange. I feel I've recovered so much of what I've lost, and yet... I still feel the same. Hollow.
        • The Traveler: ...
        • The Traveler: He's still out there. I can feel it. The Storyteller did not meet the same fate we did.
        • The Traveler: I think... before I depart again, for good. I need to visit him. I need to...
        • The Traveler: I know he blames himself, for what happened. I need to tell him that- that he isn't to blame. It couldn't be helped.
        • The Traveler: ...I see.
        • The Traveler: So you knew, this whole time? You already knew what we would find at the end of my trail...
        • The Traveler: ...
        • The Traveler: Alright. I understand.
        • The Traveler: I'll see you at the festival, then.
    • [3] You should try to enjoy the festival while you're here.
      • The Traveler: I... should. You're right. I'm a little unsure how to, if I'm being honest.
      • The Traveler: I think... being here is enough of a celebration for me, if that makes sense.
    • [4] Tell me about something.
      • The Traveler: ...I could try, though I might not have anything of note to say.
      • The Traveler: What is it you want me to tell you about?
        • [1] [The Yeti]
          • The Traveler: Oh! So you met him, did you? He's... perfectly harmless. I'm pretty sure.
          • The Traveler: We met at some point on my travels... I think. I don't really remember much about it. Maybe it's one of the memories we'll be able to put together?
        • [2] [Souvenir Sweater Merchant]
          • The Traveler: Yes... him. I've been keeping my distance. I worry that if he initiates conversation, I'll come out of it with five new sweaters.
          • The Traveler: Truth be told, I'm not entirely sure how he does it. Every day that goes by, I see someone with a festive sweater! It's ridiculous.
        • [3] [Dr. Picard][15]
          • The Traveler: ...The doctor. He, ah... he means well.
          • The Traveler: While I appreciate his interest in my... condition. He's a little- I don't know. He's too enthusiastic about it.
          • The Traveler: Maybe he'll find something. Maybe he won't.
        • [4] [Enzan and Therck]
          • The Traveler: Ah, right. The brothers. I... I envy what they have, I think.
          • The Traveler: Even despite their distance, you can feel that unbreakable bond they share. I suppose that's to be expected, though. They are brothers, after all...
          • The Traveler: Ah, don't mind me. I've just been traveling alone for a while. Being in a place like this helps stave off the loneliness, I suppose!
        • [5] [Alem][16]
          • The Traveler: Who? Oh, you mean- Right, yes, I remember now.
          • The Traveler: ...He unnerves me, to tell you the truth. As soon as he arrived, he took one look at me, and said something ominous. Just the word "memory," I think.
          • The Traveler: I have a sense that he knows something about me that even I myself don't know. which isn't that surprising, considering who he...
          • The Traveler: Right, right. Alem. His name is Alem. I think that's all I have to say about him.
      • The Traveler: Anything else?
        • [5] Nevermind.
          • The Traveler: ...Alright.
        • [5] Nope.
          • The Traveler: ...Alright.
    • [5] Dr. Picard wanted me to use this orb on you.[17]
      • The Traveler: ...What?
      • You tap the orb, and suddenly...
      • The Traveler: ...llo? Hello? Are you alright?
      • The Traveler: You scared me! You did something with that orb, and suddenly you went catatonic.
      • The Traveler: You've been standing there for a few minutes now! Are you okay? What happened?
      • The Traveler: ...
      • The Traveler: ...Well. I guess you look fine? I would maybe recommend not doing that again.
      • That... probably couldn't have gone worse. You should report back to Picard.
    • [6] Just saying hello.
      • The Traveler: Hello!

At the Talespun Citadel

The Envoy will appear alongside his brothers, the Bonfire Keeper and The Envoy. They will all do some dialogue in tandem with each other. They can all also only be found once the Festive Detlas Mystery is solved.

First Conversation

  • Bonfire Keeper: Ah, you finally arrive. Hello, friend.
    • [1] ...What are you doing here?
  • The Envoy: An excellent question! I'd certainly like to know myself why we've gathered here instead of in Detlas.
  • Bonfire Keeper: We could not interact with the Storyteller until the time was right. The tale has now reached its point at which we can-
  • The Envoy: Oh, not this story nonsense again! What's gotten into you? You were never like this before. What changed?
  • Bonfire Keeper: Nothing has changed, brother. I just... tried to keep it away from you. Both of you. I saw no need to break a horrible truth when it wasn't necessary.
  • The Envoy: ...This is ridiculous. I refuse to believe this.
  • The Traveler: He's right, Envoy. We are what we are, and there's no changing that. We can only hope we're enough of ourselves for him.
  • The Envoy: Really? You too? I don't see you for decades, and suddenly you show up parroting this- this nonsense! I can barely recognize you!
  • The Traveler: That'd be on account of the memory loss, I think. But we're all different, now. Time has changed us.
  • The Envoy: ...Ugh. I'm sorry. Fine, I'll stay. I'm here to see our brother, after all. Wouldn't be a good look to just... leave.
  • Bonfire Keeper: That's all I ask. <playername>, you must have questions. Maybe we can answer them.

  • The Traveler: ...What would you like to know?
    • [1] Why was the door to the Citadel locked?
      • Bonfire Keeper: I'm... not sure. I suspect the magic that has allowed us to be here did not want our meeting to come so soon.
      • The Traveler: I don't think it's that simple. I think he just... isn't ready. But you've broken the locks, now. He can't hold himself back anymore.
    • [2] Do you know this place?
      • The Envoy: It's familiar. I know I've been here before, and yet... I can't remember.
      • The Traveler: If it makes you feel better, neither can I.
      • The Envoy: How would that make me feel better?
      • The Traveler: Something about being in it together. I don't know.
      • Bonfire Keeper: ...I know it. I know it well. But it's not something I'd like to speak about. I'd prefer these memories stay buried.
    • [3] Why have you all followed the festivals?
      • Bonfire Keeper: It's the role I've been given in this tale. I have no other choice.
      • The Envoy: Oh, come on. You can do better than that.
      • Bonfire Keeper: ...There's a sense of nostalgia there, I feel. Happy memories from before... well. You know. It's a reason why I haven't fought it as much as I could have.
      • The Envoy: Hm. Well, for me, it's the best time of myself to... manifest, I suppose. There's always work to be done out here.
      • The Envoy: I hear you on nostalgia, though. Perhaps that's why we always try to bring a piece of the Beyond with us to Detlas. To make the festivities as lively as we wish they could have been.
      • The Traveler: ...I don't have a reason I can remember. Like clockwork, every year I find myself at Detlas' gates at the right time for the festival.
      • The Traveler: If I could choose, though, I would still visit during the winter. Something about that feels right.
    • [4] Do you remember what happened to you?
      • The Traveler: Vaguely. Not enough to put together the full picture, anyway.
      • Bonfire Keeper: ...I do. But it's not my story to tell.
      • The Envoy: Oh, really? Maybe I can tell it in your stead, then.
      • Bonfire Keeper: That's not what I meant, and you know it.
      • The Envoy: I do know. I also know what happened that day was entirely your fault.
      • The Envoy: You just had to be the hero, didn't you? You couldn't be happy with where you were already. You needed to be greater.
      • Bonfire Keeper: ...No. I couldn't. But we're long past that mistake, now.
      • The Envoy: I think... I think I knew, even then, how it would end. But I still went along with it. And, now...
      • The Envoy: ...Well, now we're here, I suppose. Nowhere to move but forward.
      • The Traveler: It's all we can do, in the end.
    • [5] So, what now?[18]
      • (Aster will walk up to his brothers)
      • Aster: ...Hello? <playername>, are you down here? I noticed the Door has opened, but-
      • Aster: ...oh. You're- you're here.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Hello, brother. It's been a while, hasn't it?
      • Aster: It... it has. It really has. I- I didn't think you'd come.
      • The Envoy: And why would you think something like that? If you called for us, of course we'd come.
      • Aster: It... doesn't matter. You're- you're here now. You're actually here.
      • (Aster will walk down the stairs)
      • Aster: I've practiced what I wanted to say so many times, but... I can't remember any of it now. Of... of course.
      • Aster: I'm- I'm sorry. I should have been able to save you all, back then. I should have tried harder.
      • The Traveler: ...No, maybe you could have done something different, but it doesn't matter. It wasn't your fault.
      • The Traveler: I've... spent much of my clarity to get here, to tell you this. It's the one thing I refuse to forget.
      • The Traveler: You weren't responsible for that loss, Aster. Any of us could have done any number of things differently to prevent it, but it doesn't matter!
      • The Traveler: What's done is done. We can't turn back time and undo those mistakes. But we're all here now, somehow, aren't we?
      • The Envoy: He's right. We might all be... gone. But we've found our own ways forward.
      • The Envoy: I, for one, am doing quite alright for myself, I feel! Even if I don't quite have a pulse anymore.
      • Aster: It's not the same though, is it? I can't help but feel as though I failed you three. I've done my best to right that wrong, but I still don't feel like I've succeeded.
      • The Traveler: You've done as much as you can, Aster. There's nothing to be gained by running yourself into the ground to reach a goal that's unattainable.
      • The Traveler: My time here is... limited. I need to leave soon. Just... try to remember what I said, alright?
      • Aster: ...Okay. If you must leave, I can't stop you. But... it was good to see you again. I've missed you- all three of you.
      • (The Traveler will disappear)
      • The Envoy: ...I'll be taking my leave soon, as well. I only have a limited time off, after all.
      • The Envoy: Aster, I- I feel like I'm still missing much of the context, here. But, I can still tell that loss is... real.
      • The Envoy: You're allowed to mourn, brother. But you need to let it go eventually. You can't hold onto that forever.
      • Aster: I'll... try and keep that in mind.
      • (The Envoy will disappear)
      • Aster: ...I can't help but notice you haven't said a word.
      • Bonfire Keeper: I didn't want to interrupt. It was important to them, and it's important to you.
      • Aster: ...You're not really him anymore, are you? The others, they're close, but... I feel like you've lost something crucial.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Mmn. No, I'm not. His ambition drove him to his end, having listened to so many stories of heroism that he would do anything to become one. I'm that parts of him that are left.
      • Aster: I... I see. And the others, they're...?
      • Bonfire Keeper: Do you really need me to answer that?
      • Aster: Yes, actually, I do! I need to know if I've managed to succeed even a little, or if my efforts were in vain once again!
      • Bonfire Keeper: I think the answer doesn't matter. We've all changed, in our own ways, but haven't you done so as well? We may not be what we once were, but to grow is to change, and we always lose a part of ourselves in that process.
      • Bonfire Keeper: In all ways that matter, is this any different? That man may be gone, and your grief is real. But we're all here now, aren't we? Can't that me enough?
      • Aster: I don't know if I can. But... I think I'd like to try, anyway.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Then when the glow of the bonfire wreathes this town once more in its warm light, come and pay me a visit. Let us mourn that loss together.
      • Aster: ...I can do that. I'll see you then, brother. And- before you go... thank you for being here.
      • (The Bonfire Keeper will disappear)
      • Aster: ...Goodness. Sorry to have- ignored you, I suppose. That was just... a lot.
      • Aster: I need to sort through my thoughts. But, you did... you did help.
      • Aster: I have a gift for you. It's a powerful item, but- it feels right to give it to you, here and now.
      • [+1 Aster's Call]
      • Aster: Thank you, again. I don't know what else to say.
    • [6] I don't have anything to ask right now.
      • The Traveler: That's alright. I don't either.

Trivia

  • If you were in Detlas when the Festival of the Blizzard ended, the Traveler would disappear in a puff of black smoke.
