Dialogue

The Passage

Prior to his stage in The Passage:

  • Ildan: What a great day we are having!

Festival of the Heroes

This dialogue pertains to the Festival of the Heroes.

First Conversation

Did not complete The Passage
  • Ildan: Greetings, human! Quite the festival you put on here, hey?
  • Ildan: I hail from Troms, a city tucked away deep in the jungle. You've likely heard of it!
  • Ildan: We don't hold many parties out there - nothing the likes of this, at least!
  • Ildan: We're in quite the isolated spot, after all. I doubt we'd get many visitors even if we did, ahaha!
  • Ildan: I'm the town recruiter, you see. I meet just about everyone who wants to settle down in Troms.
  • Ildan: I won't bore you with the details - to cut it short, not a whole lot of party people over there!
  • Ildan: Enough about that, though. How are you enjoying the celebration?
Completed The Passage
  • Ildan: Soldier! It is good to see you again.
  • Ildan: You did well dispatching that tribe! We had lost many men to their hordes before you came along.
  • Ildan: Enough military talk though. Are you enjoying the festivities? They are quite magnificent!
  • Ildan: We don't hold many parties in Troms - nothing the likes of this, at least!
  • Ildan: We're in quite the isolated spot, after all. I doubt we'd get many visitors even if we did, ahaha!
  • Ildan: I'm sure my son told me about you, but I'm the town recruiter in Troms. I meet just about everyone planning to settle down there.
  • Ildan: I won't bore you with the details - to cut it short, not a whole lot of party people over there!
  • Ildan: So, how have you been holding up?

Following Conversations

  • Ildan: Hello again! I hope you've been enjoying yourself as much as I have been.
  • Ildan: It's all very exciting! Exciting in the good sense, not exciting like a zombie raid.
  • Ildan: How have you been doing? The good sort of excited, as well?
    • [1] What do you think of Detlas so far?
      • Ildan: It's very colorful here! The only colors I see back home are greens and grays.
      • Ildan: I may sound negative, but Troms isn't so bad, really! Even with the attacks, we're quite safe within our walls.
      • Ildan: Frankly, out of all the places to live, I'm quite lucky to have ended up where I did.
    • [2] You mentioned you recruit people in Troms.
      • Ildan: I did say that, yes! In order to gain full access to the facilities in Troms, such as the Passage, folk need to prove they're worthy of being a Tromsian.
      • Ildan: The recruiting process to live in the town is... quite a bore, to be frank. We've got the trees for the paperwork, and we certainly make use of it!
      • Ildan: For the Passage though, we ensure the citizen is battle worthy. Your average merchant wouldn't have a great time strolling through the Pigmen's Ravine, after all!
      • Ildan: Honestly, there isn't an exact test we have prepared in those cases... So my responsibilities are quite loose in that department.
      • Ildan: They usually just help out our army to prove they're up to snuff. Kill a few zombies, torch some slimes, should be plenty.
      • Ildan: It may not be a perfect system, but it works! And the army appreciates the help where they can get it.
    • [3] What's life like in the jungle?
      • Ildan: The jungle is nice, actually - if you don't mind the zombies... and slimes... and knife-chucking midgits, that is!
      • Ildan: Thankfully, I don't mind! It's incredible what you can become accustomed to given enough time.
      • Ildan: The lush vegetation... the warm, wet air... it's plucked straight from a storybook, really!
      • Ildan: Er, assuming the story book neglected to mention the zombie tribesmen parading skulls around paths, that is.
      • Ildan: It'd have to be a rather descriptive book, come to think of it...
      • Ildan: Bah! Point is, it's a great place! You should come visit sometime.
    • [4] How's your son doing?[1]
      • Ildan: Oh! He's doing quite well! I'll tell him you asked.
      • Ildan: Part of my duties as town recruiter is to assist newcomers who wish to gain access to the Passage. Thanks to him, I haven't had to approach someone for that in months!
      • Ildan: He's a real eager one, my son. He tells me he wants to be a soldier when he grows up! The silly boy.
      • Ildan: It must look easy to him, how he sits and watches the guards stand around all day. He doesn't realize I have him acting as a sort of guard already, ha!
      • Ildan: Maybe he can become a soldier once he's matured, so long as he stays on our end of the Passage. I swear, those boys aren't even awake half the time I check in.
    • [5] I'm doing well. Just saying hello.
      • Ildan: Fair enough! You must be quite busy, there's a lot to do! See you again!
