Spiritual Essence is a reward currency obtained from the Banish the Beyond minigame during the annual Festival of the Spirits, which most recently ran from 13th October through 5th November, 2023. It was used to purchase a variety of exclusive items from the Trinket Merchant in The Beyond and the Skull Merchant in Detlas during the festival.

Banish the Beyond was accessible from Detlas via the Event Airship Pilot. All players, both the survivors and the spirit, were awarded 1 Spiritual Essence for every 50 points earned at the end of each game. Eight Spiritual Essence could be converted at the Trinket Merchant into one
Spiritual Shard, eight of which could in turn be converted at the Assistant Mask Merchant in Detlas into one
Condensed Soul Crystal. Spiritual Shards could not be converted back into Spiritual Essence, however.
