The Woc Base is a secretive underground location beneath the northeastern Canyon of the Lost that can be explored during and after the level 86 Cowfusion quest. It is home to the Wocs, members of an alien, bovine species who landed in Gavel Province and were transformed into cows, called "exiles", at some point in the past. The base is populated by "exile" cows who have been restored to their Woc forms by the experiments of their leader, Drale.

After the quest, the Woc Base can be entered by pressing a button at Ranol's farm, northeast of Thesead, with the exit connecting to Drale's Laboratory north of the farm.

History

Following Drale's campaign to free the "exiles" in the Wynn and Gavel Provinces, he used knowledge gained from his meetings with a Corkian and Dr. Urelix to successfully transform the exile cows back into their Woc forms, after weeks of trial and error; he and the Wocs then constructed their base as a temporary home in the Canyon of the Lost, due to its remote and ever-shifting location.

The Pit was constructed to house the abominations resulting from Drale's initial, failed transformation experiments. The Wocs also began to build a device apparently serving as a radio antenna, in order to call down their ship and return to the unknown alien world they originated from.

Months after beginning his undertaking in 1000 AP, Drale wrote that the antenna device was nearly complete, and that the last exiles that remained to be rescued were the cows on Ranol's farm.

Areas

• The City is the main area of the base, containing apartments, farms, and various technologically-advanced facilities. The open space is dominated by an enormous generator.
  • Drale's office is a large room at the far western end of the base, containing Drale, an exit to his Laboratory, and a trapdoor leading into the Pit.
  • The antenna room is a locked room near Drale's office containing his journals, as well as computers and a large device resembling a radio antenna.
• The Pit is a dangerous complex of caves and facilities below the base, populated by workers and the refuse of Drale's experiments. It cannot be re-entered after completing the quest.

Trivia

• In order to open the antenna room, a
  Glowing Orb must be retrieved from the top floor of the apartments at [280, -9580] and inserted into the locked door south of the entrance to Drale's office. Then, flip the lever east of the door (behind the elevator used in the quest) to open it.
• According to the datestamps in Drale's journals, the entire Woc Base was built over the course of about ten months at most.
• Prior to Cowfusion being updated in the 2.0 Spellbound Update, the Woc Base was a tiny underground village populated mostly by normal cows, as the concept of "Wocs" as an alien race did not yet exist.
