The Canyon Colossus is the boss of its eponymous raid, as well as a major character in the storyline of the Canyon of the Lost as well as the Molten Heights and Sky Islands. It has no direct dialogue with the player, and the lore about the Canyon Colossus is found through secrets in the Canyon of the Lost and the Sky Islands.

Lore

The Canyon Colossus mysteriously appeared in the Canyon of the Lost sometime before the Corruption Portal was unearthed. It calmly served as the guardian of the Canyon of the Lost and was a necessary good in its area.

However, when the portal was unearthed, The Canyon Colossus and another one of its kind, the Ahms Colossus, started to act haywire from an unknown cause. The Doguns, being able to reach the one in the Canyon of the Lost, managed to tame the stone behemoth, preventing it from shattering the Canyon. The same couldn't be said for the Ahms Colossus, however. The Doguns were unable to reach it, and when the Villagers saw their protector act haywire, they had no clue what to do, and thus, caused the Ahms Region to fracture into 2 separate areas, the Sky Islands and The Void. Many lives were lost in the fracturing, including the Ahms Colossus itself, from being unable to separate its body from the earth. The remains of the once-great protector now reside in the Void, separated, to never guard the Ahms Region again.

The Dogun War was also a threat to the canyon, since the dwarves had won the war, they froze the Doguns by drenching them in water, making them unable to speak, move, or think. Oblivious to the role the Doguns had to protect the Canyon, the area around the Colossus had started to fracture the region around it, as well as cause the area to shift from time to time, making the whole region of the Canyon of the Lost nigh-impossible to navigate, as well as occasionally forming cracks in the terrain as well. However, the shifting of the canyons has done a good for the Canyon of the Lost: it keeps out the Parasites ravaging West Gavel and the Gylia Plains, preventing the Canyon from suffering of the Decay.

Combat

In the third buff room of the Canyon Colossus, a red shard can be stepped on to ready one's self for the fight. After all players have stepped on the shard, it will rise up so all players will have another chance to ready for the fight as Elder Astal watches. The Canyon Colossus itself gets ready for the battle.

Unlike most other fights in Wynncraft, the arena the Canyon Colossus is fought in takes place on several shards that are behind it in the overworld. Falling off of these platforms will bounce players back up into the arena with some damage dealt to them. It resists and deals damage in
Earth and
Fire, and is resistant to
Blindness and
Slowness while being immune to
Knockback.

The Canyon Colossus has its own unique AI, which will cause it to perform several different attacks related to itself and its mechanics. It uses various attacks throughout its fight, these being:

  • Colossal Sweep: Used whenever, the Canyon Colossus will draw its sword back before it then sweeps it across the entire arena.
  • Gigantic Punch: Used whenever, the Canyon Colossus will punch players in an area of the arena.
  • Titanic Headbutt: Used when players are in range, the Canyon Colossus will headbutt all players close to it.
  • Neural Shedding: Used whenever, the Canyon Colossus will raise its right hand as 3 Colossal Shards or Onyx Axons are spewed out of it.
  • Shard Sinking: Used whenever, the Canyon Colossus will hit some platforms in the arena that cause them to sink into the ground. The shards will come back later.
  • Magmatic Meteors: Used when a player is more than 50 blocks away from it, the Canyon Colossus will fire 5 meteors above it at that player.
  • Destructive Sight: Used at certain unknown HP intervals, the Canyon Colossus will fire green lasers from its eyes at a platform in the far end of the arena, permanently sinking that platform for the rest of the fight.
  • Eyes of Extinction: Used whenever, the Canyon Colossus' eyes will turn red before firing lasers at players.
  • Blue Fire: Used whenever, the Canyon Colossus' eyes will turn blue and raise its sword. Aqua-colored icons appear below players at their current location before turning into purging beams of light where the icons are.
  • Earthshattering Blade: Used right when the Canyon Colossus is at 50% HP, it will raise its right hand to call upon a sword lodged in the side of its arena. The blade will hover over players in the arena and will occasionally strike down, causing a massive explosion in its landing area and causing a ring of explosion particles that spread out from the site of impact.

During the fight against the Canyon Colossus, three minions will spawn alongside it: Colossal Shards, Onyx Axons, and Pesky Peridotites. Colossal Shards fire lasers at players and Onyx Axons will shoot projectiles that target players within range, but the most important mob to focus on during the fight are the Pesky Peridotites, which can heal the Canyon Colossus.

Once the Canyon Colossus has been calmed, it will collapse onto the platforms of the arena. After the Raid Completed message has appeared, players drop down from the fight.

Trivia

  • The Colossus sometimes used to be called the Archlad. This is because of a golem in the Gylia Plains that was referred to by the CT as 'The Lad', and since the Colossus is much bigger and likely the golem was a Colossus Spawn that was growing into a Colossus very slowly.
  • The Colossus was formerly called the Lost Colossus before 1.20. Another difference is that the area around it wasn't fractured and that the now sky-blue veins were a bright green instead. There was also a subtle menacing face within the bottom of it, which could have possibly hinted at the bottom of The Colossus being the entrance to the now-scrapped The Mortal Mountain dungeon.
    • It also had different discovery lore: This massive statue is often thought to not be merely a still monument, but actually a living being.
