The Sacrificial Altars is a Neutral Mob and miniboss that summons a Spirit of Vexation, found in a cave called The Sacrificial Altar in Time Valley.
Combat
The Sacrificial Altar is a neutral mob that will not attack until it is attacked by another mob or player. When provoked, it becomes a ranged enemy that attacks its provoker with projectiles. When it takes damage, it will retaliate by immediately firing a projectile, ignoring its normal attack rate. It takes less damage from ✹ Fire, ✽ Water, and ✦ Thunder attacks. Once the Altar is defeated, a Spirit of Vexation is spawned.
In their first phase, Spirits of Vexation are a melee enemy that chase and attack the player, but periodically stop moving. They deal ✹ Fire, ✽ Water, and ✦ Thunder damage and can cast the Pull and Heavy Teleport spells. Once they are defeated, two Phase 2 Spirits of Vexation are spawned.
In their second phase, Spirits of Vexation remain the same, but have Melee AI instead of Crawl AI and have less health. They retain the same elemental damages and spells, but also move faster.
Drops
Defeating two Spirits of Vexation is required to unlock a Tier 3 Loot Chest and to complete the Sacrificial Altar cave. The Spirits also have two unique gear drops, the
Staff of the Dark Vexations and the
Mask of the Dark Vexations.
All three mobs may also drop Normal Items, Unidentified Items, Emeralds, Powders, and Potions of Healing.

The Sacrificial Altar is located inside The Sacrificial Altar, a Cave found in Time Valley.
