Takan is a rogue Nemract commander and boss of the level 30 quest The Mercenary.
Combat
Takan's main attack is slashing his sword vertically then diagonally. He also has abilities he can use throughout his fight:
- Explosive Rush: Used whenever, Takan will backstep a bit before rushing in the direction he is facing in, ending with an explosion when he is stopped.
- Double Shot: Used whenever, Takan will fire two arrows from himself. When he is below 50% HP (2,250 HP), he will jump up in the air to fire.
- Reel: Used when under 50% HP, Takan will reel in the player from a distance.
- Arrow Barrage: Used when under 50% HP, Takan will jump up in the air and fire 5 arrows.
- Leaping Shot: Used when under 50% HP, Takan will jump up in the air and fire a single arrow.
After Takan is defeated, he will retreat into the tower. After doing some parkour up to the top, he can be found idling in a weakened state. As the player kills him, they retrieve his badge as proof of his assassination for Admiral Amerigo.
Trivia
- Takan's combat was initially very different to the current form of The Mercenary. Instead of storming the barracks, the player would instead sneak through them and kill Takan, who only had 5 HP and did not react to the player's presence.
- Takan's name was changed from Ba'al to avoid confusion with a certain leader of the corrupt.
