The Bonfire Keeper (Formerly the Bonfire Tender) was an NPC dedicated to the Festival of the Bonfire. He was only temporarily found in Detlas by the Bonfire from July 18th, 2021 to August 8th, 2021. After the Festival of the Bonfire ended, he disappeared until the next year's festival began, which marked his return, staying in Detlas from September 30th, 2022 to October 24th, 2022. He can give you the Emblem of the Bonfire item, which is a token to show you have participated in the event.

    • [3/5] Bonfire Tender: Quite a formidable class, is it not? Ah, I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to experience the role!
  • If the Bonfire Tender is wearing the class hat corresponding to your class:
    • [3/5] Bonfire Tender: I suppose you'd know something about that role, hm? Ah, I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to tell me about it!
  • [4/5] Bonfire Tender: After all, we only have another x day(s) left until the festival comes to an end! Go out there, explore the world!
  • If it is your first time speaking with the Bonfire Tender:

  • [4/6] Bonfire Tender: My friend, this festival of ours is coming to an end soon. In [x hour(s)/less than an hour], I will be gone, and my bonfire along with me.
  • [5/6] Bonfire Tender: It's been an honour, having spent this time around the bonfire with you. Why don't we sit for a little longer?
  • If it is your first time speaking with the Bonfire Tender:
    • [6/6] Bonfire Tender: You'll always have a place at the bonfire, friend. Here, take this token of my appreciation.
    • [+1 Emblem of the Bonfire]
  • If you have already received the Emblem of the Bonfire:

First Conversation

Did not participate in the 2021 Festival of the Bonfire

  • Bonfire Keeper: Hail, traveler! A lovely day to sit and relax by the bonfire, is it not?
  • Bonfire Keeper: Another year has passed... and the fires still burn on in this province's heart, despite its endless struggle.
  • Bonfire Keeper: And that's something to celebrate, wouldn't you agree? A festival for those who live on! And a festival to remember those lost.
  • Bonfire Keeper: ...Ah, but I'm rambling. It truly is good to see you again, friend. If you'd like someone to celebrate with, you know where to find me.
  • Bonfire Keeper: I'll keep this bonfire burning for as long as it needs to. That's my role to play in this story of ours, traveler. I trust that you will be able to find your own.

Participated in the 2021 Festival of the Bonfire

  • Bonfire Keeper: Hail, traveler! It has been quite some time since we last saw each other, has it not?
  • Bonfire Keeper: Another year has passed... and the fires still burn on in this province's heart, despite its endless struggle.
  • Bonfire Keeper: And that's something to celebrate, wouldn't you agree? A festival for those who live on! And a festival to remember those lost.
  • Bonfire Keeper: ...Ah, but I'm rambling. It truly is good to see you again, friend. If you'd like someone to celebrate with, you know where to find me.
  • Bonfire Keeper: As it so happens, there is something I could use your help with... But, I will not force your hand. Speak to me again if you wish to know more.
  • Bonfire Keeper: I'll keep this bonfire burning for as long as it needs to. That's my role to play in this story of ours, traveler. I trust that you will be able to find your own.

  • Bonfire Keeper: Ah, hello again! How can I help you, friend?
    • [1] What is there to do around here?
      • Bonfire Keeper: Hm... What to do, what to do indeed... You're always welcome to speak to the other visitors in town. Some may be quite... familiar, yes.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Ah- but if you'd like something more... interesting... I invited my brother and his crew to this festival, to celebrate in their own way.
      • Bonfire Keeper: They've set up by the northwest corner of Detlas, if you'd like to pay them a visit. I'm sure they have a request you could help them with.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Otherwise... Yes, there is one more adventure you could pursue. The Event Airship Pilot- he has somewhere he could take you, at my request.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Bring some friends- or enemies- and travel to the Sunset Valley. If you meet me there, I could tell you more of the game we could play.
    • [2] You invited your brother?[1]
      • Bonfire Keeper: Oh, yes. He and I, we had... grown apart, in a sense. It was only recently that he attempted to reconnect.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Something about hearing about me from a passerby, and being guilted by his friend about the fact? I didn't catch the details.
      • Bonfire Keeper: It's... strange, yes, but I suppose that's how this story is progressing. It does make me wonder...
      • Bonfire Keeper: Ah- rambling again. Regardless, he reached out to me, and I invited him to this year's festival. It has been nice to have him around again.
      • Bonfire Keeper: And yet, still- something remains missing. You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you?
      • Bonfire Keeper: Eheh... don't worry about it. Let's call it an inside joke, yes? My brother is here, and that's something to celebrate in it of itself.
    • [3] I found something interesting.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Oh? Well, if you think it's interesting, I'm sure it's interesting too.
      • Bonfire Keeper: What did you find?
        • [1] [Sunlit Copper Coin]
          • Bonfire Keeper: A rather strange coin you've found there, yes? The sun imprinted on one side, the moon on the other?
          • Bonfire Keeper: I am familiar with this sort of currency, though... I am afraid I am bound to secrecy.
          • Bonfire Keeper: But, as it were- the answers to your questions are out there, somewhere. I wish you the best on your search, friend.
        • [2] [Rune of Stamina]/[Rune of Acceleration]
          • Bonfire Keeper: Strange stone runes... It looks as though there are some words inscribed in them, though I'm afraid I can't make them out.
          • Bonfire Keeper: You acquired these from Sunset Valley, yes? That place certainly does have an abundance of these kinds of relics.
          • Bonfire Keeper: A touch strange, is it not? To think, a people would have all this knowledge, and then... Gone. Nothing but the bonfire remains.
        • [3] [Hearthflame Stave]
          • Bonfire Keeper: Ah, yes. A Hearthflame Stave. Not unique, certainly, but still a rather powerful item. It harnesses that innate healing power, and offers it to those in need.
          • Bonfire Keeper: The glow of the bonfire takes many different forms, you see. It protects and holds those it holds dear, while burning away any who would dare harm them.
          • Bonfire Keeper: ...Oh, but don't worry about me! You'll always fall under that first category, friend.
        • [4] Nevermind, I don't have anything.
          • Bonfire Keeper: Ah, no worries. It's still nice to have a conversation with a friend.
    • [4] Just wanted to chat.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Well, it's always nice to talk to someone. Sit by the bonfire as long as you'd like, friend. You're always welcome here.

      • Bonfire Keeper: Ah- but there is, of course, a task at hand. The hearthflame is weak, here. It must be spread across the land for it to thrive.
      • Bonfire Keeper: There's a reward in it for you, if you choose to help. Tell me when you'd work towards this goal.
    • [2] You mentioned you needed help.[2]
      • Bonfire Keeper: I suppose I did say that, yes. It is... a task I would have liked to perform myself, but the threads of our tale have forced my hand.
      • Bonfire Keeper: This festival, it is one of rememberence. The bonfires must be lit across the cities of the land for the lost to reach my brother's power.
      • Bonfire Keeper: And, so, it would be your task to hold the hearthflames, and bring them to their rightful homes.
      • Bonfire Keeper: I will grant you an artifact to carry their protection... and to seek the rightful place in this world.
      • [+1 Hearthkeeper's Staff]
      • Bonfire Keeper: However- there is a catch. The magic of transportation, that which is used by Teleport Scrolls - it cannot handle the hearthflame's light.
      • Bonfire Keeper: While you are carrying a hearthflame, you will not be able to use Teleportation Scrolls. Any other means of transport will still be available.
      • Bonfire Keeper: You will be rewarded, of course, for what other incentive should suffice? Other magical items may become available, should you light enough of the bonfires.
      • Bonfire Keeper: When you would like to begin, speak to me once more.
    • [2] I'm ready to take a hearthflame.[3]
      • Bonfire Keeper: You are? You are. Very well. Let us begin.
      • Bonfire Keeper: ...It is done. You now hold a hearthflame. Use the staff to find its resting place. Remember, you cannot use Teleportation Scrolls.
      • Bonfire Keeper: The bonfires you see will only be located in cities and towns, as to better serve their purpose.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Should you need guidance, return and speak to me once more. Good luck.
    • [2] What do I do with this hearthflame again?[4]
      • Bonfire Keeper: Oh- of course. You now hold a hearthflame. It must be brought to its resting place, somewhere in this land.
      • Bonfire Keeper: The bonfires will only ever be in cities or towns, for that is where they must be to serve their purpose.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Use the Hearthkeeper's Staff to guide the way. You will be unable to use Teleportation Scrolls, so you may need to find alternative paths.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Once you place the hearthflame and light the bonfire, return to me. I will offer further guidance then.
    • [2] I've lit the first bonfire.[5]
      • Bonfire Keeper: You have! This is a good first step. One bonfire closer to our goal.
      • Bonfire Keeper: ...Alright, you understand the basics, then. You'll be able to pick up more than one hearthflame at once, if you'd like.
      • Bonfire Keeper: One new flame will be created every day, and with it, another bonfire to be lit. Light them all, and I will reward you.
      • Bonfire Keeper: For now- a gift. An emblem to mark the occasion. The start of this tale of ours.
      • [+1 Emblem of the Bonfire]
      • Bonfire Keeper: Each bonfire lit will reward you a sum of emeralds, and every 7 will reward you a magical trinket. Happy hunting, friend!
    • [2] Let's talk about the Hearthflame Hunt.[6]
      • Bonfire Keeper: Alright, we can do that. What would you like to speak about?
        • [1] I need a hearthflame.
          • Already claimed all currently available hearthflames:
            • Bonfire Keeper: ...There are no hearthflames waiting here. You will need to wait until {tomorrow/x hour(s)/less than an hour} for another one to form.
          • Available hearthflame:
            • Bonfire Keeper: Very well. Would you like a single hearthflame, or as many as you can carry?
              • [1] Just one.
                • Bonfire Keeper: ...It is done. Bring it to its proper resting place.
              • [2] I'll take as many as I can.
                • Bonfire Keeper: ...It is done. Bring them to their proper resting places.
              • [3] Nevermind, I don't need a flame.
                • Bonfire Keeper: ...Alright. You know where to go when you're ready.
          • Already claimed all hearthflames:
            • Bonfire Keeper: ...There are no more bonfires waiting to be lit, and no hearthflames waiting to be carried. You have done it all.
        • [2] Can you tell me what I need to do?
          • Bonfire Keeper: Oh- of course. You now hold a hearthflame. It must be brought to its resting place, somewhere in this land.
          • Bonfire Keeper: The bonfires will only ever be in cities or towns, for that is where they must be to serve their purpose.
          • Bonfire Keeper: Use the Hearthkeeper's Staff to guide the way. You will be unable to use Teleportation Scrolls, so you may need to find alternative paths.
          • Bonfire Keeper: Place the hearthflames, and light the bonfires. You will be rewarded.
        • [3] I've lit the bonfires. Can I have my rewards?[7]
          • Bonfire Keeper: Rewards... right. You've lit x bonfires since you last asked.
          • Bonfire Keeper: As thanks for your work, I offer you this sum of emeralds.
        • [4] Why do these bonfires need to be lit?
          • Bonfire Keeper: ...In a sense, it's a way for me to offer aid to my brother- the Envoy.
          • Bonfire Keeper: They've been experiencing some... complications with their work. I feel a little bad about it, seeing as it's... partly my fault.
          • Bonfire Keeper: ...You'll see for yourself when their season comes around. It doesn't feel right talking about someone behind their back.
          • Bonfire Keeper: Either way- the bonfires are an attempt to make their job easier. They'll hopefully gather a majority of those loose roaming spirits...
          • Bonfire Keeper: ...and, at the same time, offer protection for the living under their magic. It won't be much, but... it's something.
          • Bonfire Keeper: I have been... trying my best, recently. To make up for, ah- past mistakes, I suppose.
        • [5] Nevermind, I don't need anything.
          • Bonfire Keeper: Very well. You know where to find me if you need any information.
    • [3] I lost the Hearthkeeper's Staff
      • Bonfire Keeper: ...Oh. That won't be a problem- the staff has returned itself to me.
      • [+1 Hearthkeeper's Staff]
      • Bonfire Keeper: I would ask- please take better care of it.
    • [3] Why isn't your brother here this year?
      • Bonfire Keeper: Ah, well... The timing didn't work out this time around. They have their season, and I have mine.
      • Bonfire Keeper: I did think the brands of magic worked well enough together... but, well, that's life, I suppose.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Things don't always work out in the end. Sometimes, they do... But not always.
    • [4] I found something interesting.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Oh? Well, if you think it's interesting, I'm sure it's interesting too.
      • Bonfire Keeper: What did you find?
        • [1] [Corkian Firecrackers]
          • Bonfire Keeper: ...Hm. Well- I'm not sure what to say about this.
          • Bonfire Keeper: These are a form of explosives, I take it? I- ah- I don't particularly enjoy such things.
          • Bonfire Keeper: They're certainly... interesting. Technologically fascinating too. Just, ehm, please keep them away from me, if you could.
        • [2] [Sunlit Copper Coin]
          • Bonfire Keeper: A rather strange coin you've found there, yes? The sun imprinted on one side, the moon on the other?
          • Bonfire Keeper: I am familiar with this sort of currency, though... I am afraid I am bound to secrecy.
          • Bonfire Keeper: But, as it were- the answers to your questions are out there, somewhere. I wish you the best on your search, friend.

        • [4] [Rune of the Mountains]/[Rune of the Storms]/[Rune of the Rainfall]/[Rune of the Sunrise]/[Rune of the Winds]
          • Bonfire Keeper: ...Oh! These look rather similar to the runes found within the Sunset Valley!
          • Bonfire Keeper: They appear to have been created for some sort of combat scenario... Though, perhaps, not the sort found within the Sunset Valley itself.
          • Bonfire Keeper: Interesting, no? It's proof there's more to the folk than at first glance... Or, perhaps, it's proof of something else.
          • Bonfire Keeper: ...hm? Oh, did I say that out loud? Sorry, sorry. My mind has been... wandering, lately.
        • [5] [Hearthflame Stave]
          • Bonfire Keeper: Ah, yes. A Hearthflame Stave. Not unique, certainly, but still a rather powerful item. It harnesses that innate healing power, and offers it to those in need.

        • [6] Nevermind, I don't have anything.
          • Bonfire Keeper: Ah, no worries. It's still nice to have a conversation with a friend.
    • [5] I've met the Storyteller.
      • Bonfire Keeper: ...Did you, now. I- well. I can't say I've done the same. He's been watching, though.
      • Bonfire Keeper: I suppose we both know the truth of things, then. I'd been trying to hint at it, but... ah, well. This works as well.
      • Bonfire Keeper: ...Is there a reason you have offered this information? You must hope to accomplish something by doing so.
        • [1] He wants you all to visit the Festival of the Heroes.
          • Bonfire Keeper: He-... ah. That is... certainly interesting. He has never shown any desire of interacting with the three of us before now.
          • Bonfire Keeper: Has something changed his mind? Was it you, perhaps?
          • Bonfire Keeper: ...Well, if that's what he wants, then I suppose I have no choice but to agree. However- I have a request to make of you, first.
          • Bonfire Keeper: And you do not need to accept. But, the truth is... the story being woven here, and now- it must be completed.
          • Bonfire Keeper: That, of course, involves you. The bonfires must be lit for this tale to conclude.
          • Bonfire Keeper: The bonfires must be lit before this festival concludes. Would you do this for me, before I meet with the Storyteller?
            • [1] I will.
              • Bonfire Keeper: ...I thank you for your kindness. Very well. Then this is how it shall be.
              • Bonfire Keeper: Once you have lit all 21 bonfires, we will return to this topic. If you'd like to begin, ask me about the hunt.
            • [2] I can't promise that.
              • Bonfire Keeper: I- I see. Very well. I did say you did not need to accept...
              • Bonfire Keeper: I will visit the Storyteller's festival, when that time of year comes. In the meantime, I will remain here. In case you change your mind.
        • [2] Wait, what do you know?
          • Bonfire Keeper: I know... the truth of our state of being. That we're all simply playing roles in this story of his creation.
          • Bonfire Keeper: Year by year, four festivals, circling in perpetuity... They're quite important to him, even if he doesn't know it.
          • Bonfire Keeper: But that's not my secret to tell. I have my role to play, and it is something I must stick to until this experiment inevitably ends.
    • [6] Just wanted to chat.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Well, it's always nice to talk to someone. Sit by the bonfire as long as you'd like, friend. You're always welcome here.

First Conversation

  • Bonfire Keeper: Welcome to the Sunset Valley, traveler. Do you feel the summer winds flowing past?
  • Bonfire Keeper: Ah, but you're here for the Battle for the Bonfire, are you not? Then let me explain. In this game, two teams will compete for victory. It consists of two phases- the Wood Phase, and the Fire Phase.
  • Bonfire Keeper: During the Wood Phase, you will have to cross the arena into enemy territory, past their bonfire, into their woods. Collect the enemy's logs, and return them to your bonfire without dying to score for your team.
  • Bonfire Keeper: The team which wins the Wood Phase will be granted a random Boon to assist in the second phase- the Fire Phase.
  • Bonfire Keeper: During the Fire Phase, you must ascend to the center of the arena, and claim the Bonfire Flame for yourself. Only one flame will remain in play at a time.
  • Bonfire Keeper: You must use the Bonfire Flame to burn the enemy team's flag to the ground- only then can you claim victory.
  • Bonfire Keeper: Stronger weapons and Runes can be found scattered around the arena. They are powerful, but have limited use. Make them count!
  • Bonfire Keeper: There is, of course, a wildcard in play- the Bonus Objective Altar. At the start of the game, a random objective will be selected, and both teams will compete to complete it for the reward of another Boon.
  • Bonfire Keeper: I would encourage you to give it a go! Tell me once you've done so, and I can offer you a gift. Otherwise, if you have any questions, ask away!

      • Bonfire Keeper: And, that's all! I hope that was a suitable explanation.
    • [2] What are Boons and Runes?
      • Bonfire Keeper: I suppose I should explains that, yes. Runes are powerful items which will appear around the arena, and have very limited uses.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Boons, on the other hand, are moreso... gifts from the Valley. They give a boost to an entire team, and can be earned through the Wood Phase or the Bonus Objective.
      • Bonfire Keeper: There's several different types of both of these available. I'll tell you about them now.
      • (A UI will then pop up, which will show every Rune and Boon and its effects.)
    • [3] What is this place?
      • Bonfire Keeper: This is the Sunset Valley, traveler. A place spoken of only in stories and legends.
      • Bonfire Keeper: The land itself seems nearly living. If you listen closely, you can hear whispers on the wind, or grumbling deep beneath the mountains.
      • Bonfire Keeper: The Valley may choose to lend its power to those it sees as worthy. Long ago, the people in this land received those gifts.
      • Bonfire Keeper: And now, long gone, forgotten... You may pick up where they left. Fight for the valley. Fight for your glory.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Maybe, if you leave enough of an impression... The land will reveal its secrets to you.
    • [4] Why did you want me to come here?
      • Bonfire Keeper: Ah, what a question. Why do any of us do anything?
      • Bonfire Keeper: Perhaps there is a story to tell, here. One you have a role in, yourself.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Perhaps it was just for fun. After all, there is a great enjoyment to be had in battle.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Perhaps the Valley called you here itself, seeing fit to speak through me. It has long sought new challengers to bless anew.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Or perhaps there was no reason! Perhaps it did not have a meaning at all. It's for you to decide, traveler.
    • [5] It's been fine so far.
      • Bonfire Keeper: That's good to hear.

Receiving the 2022 Emblem of the Bonfire

  • Bonfire Keeper: Ah- traveler! I see you've had an attempt at the Battle for the Bonfire! How was it?
  • Bonfire Keeper: Oh, right, I promised you a gift. I have something of a keepsake I'd like to offer you. To remember this festival, yes?
  • [+1 Emblem of the Bonfire]
  • Bonfire Keeper: ...Right! So, how has the Sunset Valley been treating you?

The Bonfire Keeper will have its regular dialogue at Sunset Valley with the third line.

At the Talespun Citadel

The Bonfire Keeper will appear alongside his brothers, The Envoy and The Traveler. They will all do some dialogue in tandem with each other. They can all also only be found once the Festive Detlas Mystery is solved.

First Conversation

  • Bonfire Keeper: Ah, you finally arrive. Hello, friend.
    • [1] ...What are you doing here?
  • The Envoy: An excellent question! I'd certainly like to know myself why we've gathered here instead of in Detlas.
  • Bonfire Keeper: We could not interact with the Storyteller until the time was right. The tale has now reached its point at which we can-
  • The Envoy: Oh, not this story nonsense again! What's gotten into you? You were never like this before. What changed?
  • Bonfire Keeper: Nothing has changed, brother. I just... tried to keep it away from you. Both of you. I saw no need to break a horrible truth when it wasn't necessary.
  • The Envoy: ...This is ridiculous. I refuse to believe this.
  • The Traveler: He's right, Envoy. We are what we are, and there's no changing that. We can only hope we're enough of ourselves for him.
  • The Envoy: Really? You too? I don't see you for decades, and suddenly you show up parroting this- this nonsense! I can barely recognize you!
  • The Traveler: That'd be on account of the memory loss, I think. But we're all different, now. Time has changed us.
  • The Envoy: ...Ugh. I'm sorry. Fine, I'll stay. I'm here to see our brother, after all. Wouldn't be a good look to just... leave.
  • Bonfire Keeper: That's all I ask. <playername>, you must have questions. Maybe we can answer them.

Dialogue options will be grayed out whenever they are selected.

  • Bonfire Keeper: Do you have any questions?
    • [1] Why was the door to the Citadel locked?
      • Bonfire Keeper: I'm... not sure. I suspect the magic that has allowed us to be here did not want our meeting to come so soon.
      • The Traveler: I don't think it's that simple. I think he just... isn't ready. But you've broken the locks, now. He can't hold himself back anymore.
    • [2] Do you know this place?
      • The Envoy: It's familiar. I know I've been here before, and yet... I can't remember.
      • The Traveler: If it makes you feel better, neither can I.
      • The Envoy: How would that make me feel better?
      • The Traveler: Something about being in it together. I don't know.
      • Bonfire Keeper: ...I know it. I know it well. But it's not something I'd like to speak about. I'd prefer these memories stay buried.
    • [3] Why have you all followed the festivals?
      • Bonfire Keeper: It's the role I've been given in this tale. I have no other choice.
      • The Envoy: Oh, come on. You can do better than that.
      • Bonfire Keeper: ...There's a sense of nostalgia there, I feel. Happy memories from before... well. You know. It's a reason why I haven't fought it as much as I could have.
      • The Envoy: Hm. Well, for me, it's the best time of myself to... manifest, I suppose. There's always work to be done out here.
      • The Envoy: I hear you on nostalgia, though. Perhaps that's why we always try to bring a piece of the Beyond with us to Detlas. To make the festivities as lively as we wish they could have been.
      • The Traveler: ...I don't have a reason I can remember. Like clockwork, every year I find myself at Detlas' gates at the right time for the festival.
      • The Traveler: If I could choose, though, I would still visit during the winter. Something about that feels right.
    • [4] Do you remember what happened to you?
      • The Traveler: Vaguely. Not enough to put together the full picture, anyway.
      • Bonfire Keeper: ...I do. But it's not my story to tell.
      • The Envoy: Oh, really? Maybe I can tell it in your stead, then.
      • Bonfire Keeper: That's not what I meant, and you know it.
      • The Envoy: I do know. I also know what happened that day was entirely your fault.
      • The Envoy: You just had to be the hero, didn't you? You couldn't be happy with where you were already. You needed to be greater.
      • Bonfire Keeper: ...No. I couldn't. But we're long past that mistake, now.
      • The Envoy: I think... I think I knew, even then, how it would end. But I still went along with it. And, now...
      • The Envoy: ...Well, now we're here, I suppose. Nowhere to move but forward.
      • The Traveler: It's all we can do, in the end.
    • [5] So, what now?[8]
      • (Aster will walk up to his brothers)
      • Aster: ...Hello? <playername>, are you down here? I noticed the Door has opened, but-
      • Aster: ...oh. You're- you're here.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Hello, brother. It's been a while, hasn't it?
      • Aster: It... it has. It really has. I- I didn't think you'd come.
      • The Envoy: And why would you think something like that? If you called for us, of course we'd come.
      • Aster: It... doesn't matter. You're- you're here now. You're actually here.
      • (Aster will walk down the stairs)
      • Aster: I've practiced what I wanted to say so many times, but... I can't remember any of it now. Of... of course.
      • Aster: I'm- I'm sorry. I should have been able to save you all, back then. I should have tried harder.
      • The Traveler: ...No, maybe you could have done something different, but it doesn't matter. It wasn't your fault.
      • The Traveler: I've... spent much of my clarity to get here, to tell you this. It's the one thing I refuse to forget.
      • The Traveler: You weren't responsible for that loss, Aster. Any of us could have done any number of things differently to prevent it, but it doesn't matter!
      • The Traveler: What's done is done. We can't turn back time and undo those mistakes. But we're all here now, somehow, aren't we?
      • The Envoy: He's right. We might all be... gone. But we've found our own ways forward.
      • The Envoy: I, for one, am doing quite alright for myself, I feel! Even if I don't quite have a pulse anymore.
      • Aster: It's not the same though, is it? I can't help but feel as though I failed you three. I've done my best to right that wrong, but I still don't feel like I've succeeded.
      • The Traveler: You've done as much as you can, Aster. There's nothing to be gained by running yourself into the ground to reach a goal that's unattainable.
      • The Traveler: My time here is... limited. I need to leave soon. Just... try to remember what I said, alright?
      • Aster: ...Okay. If you must leave, I can't stop you. But... it was good to see you again. I've missed you- all three of you.
      • (The Traveler will disappear)
      • The Envoy: ...I'll be taking my leave soon, as well. I only have a limited time off, after all.
      • The Envoy: Aster, I- I feel like I'm still missing much of the context, here. But, I can still tell that loss is... real.
      • The Envoy: You're allowed to mourn, brother. But you need to let it go eventually. You can't hold onto that forever.
      • Aster: I'll... try and keep that in mind.
      • (The Envoy will disappear)
      • Aster: ...I can't help but notice you haven't said a word.
      • Bonfire Keeper: I didn't want to interrupt. It was important to them, and it's important to you.
      • Aster: ...You're not really him anymore, are you? The others, they're close, but... I feel like you've lost something crucial.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Mmn. No, I'm not. His ambition drove him to his end, having listened to so many stories of heroism that he would do anything to become one. I'm that parts of him that are left.
      • Aster: I... I see. And the others, they're...?
      • Bonfire Keeper: Do you really need me to answer that?
      • Aster: Yes, actually, I do! I need to know if I've managed to succeed even a little, or if my efforts were in vain once again!
      • Bonfire Keeper: I think the answer doesn't matter. We've all changed, in our own ways, but haven't you done so as well? We may not be what we once were, but to grow is to change, and we always lose a part of ourselves in that process.
      • Bonfire Keeper: In all ways that matter, is this any different? That man may be gone, and your grief is real. But we're all here now, aren't we? Can't that me enough?
      • Aster: I don't know if I can. But... I think I'd like to try, anyway.
      • Bonfire Keeper: Then when the glow of the bonfire wreathes this town once more in its warm light, come and pay me a visit. Let us mourn that loss together.
      • Aster: ...I can do that. I'll see you then, brother. And- before you go... thank you for being here.
      • (The Bonfire Keeper will disappear)
      • Aster: ...Goodness. Sorry to have- ignored you, I suppose. That was just... a lot.
      • Aster: I need to sort through my thoughts. But, you did... you did help.
      • Aster: I have a gift for you. It's a powerful item, but- it feels right to give it to you, here and now.
      • [+1 Aster's Call]
      • Aster: Thank you, again. I don't know what else to say.
    • [6] I don't have anything to ask right now.
      • Bonfire Keeper: I understand. Then all we can do is wait.
