The Panic Zealot is the sole mob and boss of the level 101 Boss Altar Bottomless Pit. It was formerly a simple item that fell down and got twisted by the influence of darkness.
Combat
The Panic Zealot has a large amount of HP, being 1,500,000. It has a Melee AI, which will cause it to follow the player and deal damage upon contact. It is weak to ✽ Water and is resistant to ❋ Air and ✹ Fire. It is immune to forms of Blindness Crowd Control and is resistant to forms of Knockback and Slowness Crowd Control, meaning that it is vulnerable to them but it will become immune to them for a few seconds after it is affected by them.
While its low damage and slow movement makes it seem harmless, the main element in the fight is its script spell, HP Drain, which drains 99% of the player's current HP every 5 seconds. The player is affected by this at the very start of entering the Boss Altar after they fall to the end of the so-called Bottomless Pit, though it isn't recurring. Loud shrieking sounds play at the start of the fight and will also play if the player is trapped by one of its two other script spells, Zealot Snare and Zealot Clone. Zealot Snare will cause rings of purple particles to appear across the arena, lasting for 15 seconds, and if the player is caught in one, loud shrieking noises will play alongside with the player being paralyzed for 3 seconds, allowing them to be hit by the boss at already low HP, posing an immense threat throughout the fight. Once it is at 750,000 HP, it will start to use Zealot Clone, which will cause clones of it to appear throughout the fight, dashing in a straight line from one side of the arena to the opposite side, blinding the player and playing loud shrieking noises if they are caught in it. The script spells become more frequent throughout the fight until it is at 450,000 HP, peaking at that amount of HP.
Its main form of attacks are its wide array of spells, being Explode, Heavy Explode, Push, Teleport, Wave, Heavy Wave, and Heavy Weakness. Explode will cause an explosion to occur at its current location, dealing damage and knocking back any players caught in it, with its heavy version doing even more damage and knockback. Push will cause it to force the player away from its current location if they are within 12 blocks from it. Teleport will cause it to go directly from one point to another. Wave will cause a large wall of water particles to move away from the mob and can knock the player back repeatedly, with its heavy version being larger and knocking the player back more times. Heavy Weakness will cause the player to get reduced damage for 3 minutes.
After the Panic Zealot dies, it will have a guaranteed drop of the
Tether of the Surface, which will allow the player to teleport back to the entrance of the Boss Altar.
